BlessUP Show UP Wednesday, business soul friends!
The brilliance of the most successful people we know is not just in their minds. Most of the credit belongs to something other than skills and talent. The genius behind most greatness is owed far more to the compounding power of one’s consistency. The act of showing up. The incredible, underrated power of clocking in every day and putting one’s ass on the seat.
Greatness is more than just inspiration. It’s getting to work and getting the work done.
Once we show up, something can be done. Our momentum can grow. We can get help. We can be lucky. We’re closer to where we want to be. We don’t show up and we’re stuck in the same place we were yesterday.
Don’t worry about setting any records. Report for duty first. Be present and post your NDDs on time. No excuses. We may not be amazing every day. We may have slumps and get off-track at times for different reasons. But here’s the irony: as long as we show up, we are setting ourselves to break records!
So show up and stick around even when you’re tired.
Even when you’re sick.
Even when you don’t have to.
Even if you have an excuse.
Even if you’re not going to be recognized for it.
Even if life has been cruel to you lately.
Even if you failed.
Even if most people won’t.
This discipline is the first step to becoming more and achieving more.
Take it from Former US Navy Admiral, William H. McRaven who best reminds us that changing the world starts with one task completed and for all of us here, that is showing up.
One thing a day adds up. Each day adds up and when accumulated in large quantities, that’s when we can finally feel the progress and see a real difference. We are trained to push ourselves further, to fight harder, to endure, and still deliver. With the discipline of showing up, we can jump right into the arena and stay there for the long game.
Show up. Dare greatly.
Don’t ever ring the bell.
Until I SEE YOU again,
Show up. Dare greatly.
Don’t ever ring the bell.
