BlessUP “Growth” Friday, business soul friends!
Radical Candor teaches us that caring personally and challenging directly through Clear and Candid feedback is necessary to develop team collaboration and growth. However, since our minds are wired differently, we have different approaches to receiving clear and candid feedback. Others are grateful for candid feedback since they found areas for improvement, and others may develop negative emotions. Being receptive to candid feedback remains a challenge to others because it calls out weak points or actions that are not in line with our values or settling for average performance, not extraordinary.
What is that ONE Thing you will start doing based on what you learned from the media?
Accepting growth opportunities by being receptive to feedback is not always easy. We have this physiological reaction of fight or flight when we consider that feedback is a personal attack. In my point of view, the first step to being receptive to feedback is the acceptance that we are humans. We commit mistakes. Then, we will acknowledge the Kaizen culture wherein we have another chance not to commit the same mistake again. Sometimes, we cannot figure out our own mistakes that other people on a cloud view perceive. And that is where the gift of feedback came from. We can tell that we are receptive to candid feedback without ego when we do not become emotional and perceive the feedback as an opportunity to grow.
Until I SEE YOU again,
Let’s learn from one another.
Let’s be receptive, and grow!
BlessUP 🙏
