Kaizen Thought: We have to experience the pain, rejection, and hard times because that’s how we grow and develop ourselves.
In Chapter 2 of The Power of Purpose by Mr. Les Brown, he taught us that growth comes through challenges. We have to experience the pain, experience the rejection, experience the hard times because that’s how we grow and develop ourselves.
It’s easy to see these obstacles as setbacks, but these are the moments that help us grow. Hard times, rejection, and even failure are part of the journey. They shape us into stronger versions of ourselves. Each problem we solve, and each obstacle we face, makes us better at what we do. It’s through these tough experiences that we learn, adapt, and become more capable.
So, when you face a difficult task or a project that doesn’t go as planned, don’t view it as a roadblock. See it as an opportunity to grow. Each challenge is a stepping stone, and the stronger we get, the more we can achieve.
This reminds us of The Obstacle Is the Way. Growth only comes from challenges. Just as we lift weights at the gym to build strength, challenges in life break us down so we can rebuild stronger. When you solve math problems in school, they’re meant to stretch your mind, not repeat what you already know. The same applies here: we grow by solving bigger, better problems, not the same ones every day.
