BlessUP NO EXCUSES Tuesday, business soul friends!
“Don’t blame someone or something else, or make up an excuse. Don’t blame all the problems on a vendor, a programming language, management, or your coworkers. Any of these may play a role, but it is up to you to provide solutions, not excuses” – Andy Hunt
When you are struggling or failing, it’s easier to blame forces that are outside of your control. Instead of taking ownership of your situation, you try to absolve yourself of any personal accountability as you allow these limitations to be your excuse for why you are not delivering 10X results. The way to succeed is by creating solutions, not excuses. If you allow yourself to make excuses, you’re only setting yourself up for mediocrity.
Although there are indeed things that are beyond our control, it doesn’t mean we’re completely helpless and bound to fail. We just need to be relentless in seeking solutions. That’s how we can grow as individuals and create value in this world.
Personal accountability is about choosing to be part of the solution rather than be a victim of our situation. So instead of coming up with a reason why you can’t do it, ask yourself what can you do to solve the problem. Take initiative by bringing your solutions to the table instead of just asking your leader what to do next whenever you get stuck in a problem or situation.
It’s okay to admit what you don’t know, but then take responsibility like a pro.
Until I SEE YOU again,
The way to succeed is by creating solutions, not excuses.
Own the challenge. Step up and be a problem-solver.
BlessUP! 🙏
