As I shared previously in a BlessUP post, part of my DAILY reading is learning from Billionaires and THE BEST IN THE WORLD. And one of my favorite daily business-soul mind renewal rejuvenation rituals, which takes less than 15 minutes, is Tribe of Mentors.
Tribe of Mentors is a compilation of tools, tactics, and habits from 130+ of the world’s top performers. From iconic entrepreneurs to elite athletes, from artists to billionaire investors, their short profiles can help you answer life’s most challenging questions, achieve extraordinary results, and transform your life. And the exciting part, Tribe of Mentors was just released this month as an audiobook!
The foundational part of Tribe of Mentors is QUESTIONS?
Each year I visit New York City with my family for a mix of entertainment and business. New York City is 10x and one of my favorite places to visit to remind me of THINKING BIG. And on all my visits, I stay at a fabulous Hotel right on Time Square. Along with the terrific central location, I love the view and looking up at the HUGE billboards and bright lights, a mesmerizing BIG picture that tricks your mind into thinking its always daytime. Many times I will look UP, pause, close my eyes and take a mental picture of a NaXum BlessUP Billboard illuminating our WHY big and bright!
Kaizen, from a Grand Master! ♞
So one of my favorite questions from Tribe of Mentors is: “If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it, what would it say and why?” And one of my favorite answers is from Maurice Ashley, the first African-American International Grandmaster in the annals of the game of Chess. He speaks a different twist related to a foundational part of our NaXum Culture = KAIZEN!
Here is his answer:
“I wake up each day with the firm conviction that I am nowhere near my full potential. ‘Greatness’ is a verb.”
“Those words came to me one morning in a flash of awareness and insight. I have miles to go before I ‘sleep’, and so I will spend my remaining years desperately looking to improve who I am from year to year. GREATNESS is not a final destination, but a series of small acts done daily in order to constantly rejuvenate and refresh our skills in a daily effort to become a better version of ourselves.” Meet Maurice…
Now, what about YOU? What would your answer be? Instead of boosting me back, please take a moment and think about the same 2-part question…
