Kaizen Thought: Ensure that what we create is not just good—but truly impactful.
Perfection is a myth, and we can never build something perfectly. There will always be minor errors. However, as highlighted in The Pragmatic Programmer, errors provide valuable information. They let us know where to improve. Errors are errors, and ignoring them is what will make us fail.
While it’s true that everyone misses a thing every now and then, we have to make sure that in every output we turn in, we can honestly say that we have considered all possible scenarios.
It is our duty to ask ourselves:
- Have we ensured quality and reliability?
- Would I use this myself?
Take ownership and accountability by putting yourself in the shoes of those who will use what you create. Ask yourself: Is it simple for first-time users to understand? Is everything functional and seamless? Have security and protection been properly considered?
Our dedication is reflected in everything we create—to trust, reliability, and user experience. We are problem-solvers, innovators, and partners in creating impactful solutions.
We are privileged to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. Let’s not waste it.
We should treat every project as our own. The challenges faced by those who rely on our work should matter to us as much as our own.
Ultimately, we have the power to shape our work and, in doing so, shape our future.
We must ensure that what we create is not just good but truly impactful—built with purpose and accountability.
