Being an active member of a work environment makes you the most important person in the organization as you hold all the other members together to function as a unit. That means each one of us plays a role so essential that we must be a Linchpin. For a flawless working platform, everyone should always act as a real Linchpin.
Why is it important to support your team?
Supporting your team at work can help boost morale, increase productivity, and create a happier and healthier work culture. Professionals who feel supported by their colleagues often are more confident in their abilities and can return the support to others, which can be beneficial to the entire company. Any employee can choose to support their team, and it can be especially important for team leads and managers to create a supportive work environment for everyone.
How to support your team?
There are many practices you can adopt to support your team. Most methods of uplifting your team are straightforward and require a small amount of effort. Though these practices may be simple and easy, providing support to your team can yield highly beneficial results.
A good example in our world is FOT – Friend of the Team. It is important to be available for other teams’ support requests. It will cost us our time but at the end of the day, we only have each other to lean on and we need everybody to win individually in order for us to succeed as a team. When it’s our time to seek for them, we surely want our team to lend us a hand. So we are there for them and show them that they have our support any time by all means.
By being an FOT, we honor two of our company core values:
BE GENEROUS
When a client, teammate, or vendor encounters you they either feel better or worse when people leave. How will you choose to impact them? Being generous encompasses the idea of being charitable with your energy, your talent, and your resources. It’s an attitude that is benevolent, creating ways to give back as people and as a company to better our world. It’s making people smile.
BE HUMBLE
This is an attitude of always being helpful and supportive. You can see it when a teammate has no ego and is always willing to lend a hand to teach or assist. Many of you can think of this as the old biblical saying “Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you”. We maintain this core value with our Clients, Vendors, and Teammates. You will know you have this when you portray confidence without ego by being respectful to others without arrogance. We believe that our Character will speak for itself when we are always willing to listen.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “He who removes from a believer one of his difficulties of this world, God will remove one of his troubles on the Day of Resurrection; and he who finds relief for a hard-pressed person, God will make things easy for him on the Day of Resurrection; he who covers up (the faults and sins) of a Muslim, God will cover up (his faults and sins) in this world and in the Hereafter. God supports His slave as long as the slave is supportive of his brother; and he who treads the path in search of knowledge, God makes that path easy, leading to Jannah for him; the people who assemble in one of the houses of God, reciting the Book of God, learning it and teaching, there descends upon them the tranquillity, and mercy covers them, the angels flock around them, and God mentions them in the presence of those near Him; and he who lags behind in doing good deeds, his noble lineage will not make him go ahead.”
