BlessUP PERSIST Monday, business soul friends!
Genius is often seen as a mysterious quality, a flash of brilliance that sets specific individuals apart. But if we look closely, we’ll discover that genius is, in fact, persistence in disguise. Great victories, be they in the realm of war like General Ulysses Grant who led the Union to win, or in the world of invention like Thomas Edison, who revolutionized the technology field, didn’t arise from a sudden bolt of inspiration. They were born from a relentless process of trial and error, welcoming the opportunity to test and test and test, refusing to give up, and believing that eventually —inevitably—one of the attempts will succeed.
That’s what true genius means: the unity of purpose, deafness to doubt, and the desire to stay in the game no matter the challenges that come along the way.
We can draw inspiration from these great minds and their persistence as a team. It’s not just about refusing to quit but also about ensuring that with each test we may fail, we learn fresh insights and apply them to refine our approach until we arrive at the right solution. Let us persist, not allowing any RWS to deter us, for they exist to challenge us, push us beyond our boundaries, and stimulate our personal and business soul growth.
As Sir Ryan Holiday taught us in The Obstacle is the way:
It’s supposed to be complicated. Your first attempts are going to fail. It will take a lot out of you—but energy is an asset we can always find more of. It’s a renewable resource.
Stop looking for an epiphany and start looking for weak points. Stop looking for angels and start looking for angles. There are options. Settle in for the long haul, try every possibility, and you’ll get there.
Let’s work twice as hard when setbacks come and take more significant actions. Giving up should never be considered. If quitting ever crosses our mind, it’s as good as admitting defeat. At that point, it’s game over.
If we are to overcome our obstacles, and if we are to have great success, we must not be stopped by failure; we must not be rushed or distracted by external noise. We must chisel and peg through the obstacle until it is gone. Only then can our true genius shine through, and we emerge as winners.
Until I See You Again,
Let’s persist in our efforts.
There is no way out but through.
BlessUP 🙏
