The authors of the audiobook Extreme Ownership talked about the importance of being decisive in times of uncertainty. To succeed, we must be comfortable under pressure and act on logic, not emotion.
There is only sometimes a 100% correct solution; our decisions are only sometimes always perfect. Waiting for a specific answer or the ideal moment causes delays, missed opportunities, prolonged uncertainty, and a lack of progress.
We shouldn’t rush when making decisions. Take careful consideration and necessary assessment without becoming indecisive. Set a timeline to avoid prolonged deliberation and gather relevant information for a decision. Sometimes, intuition and gut feeling are crucial, but balance them with rational thinking. Commit to every decision, take accountability, and own the outcomes. Whether it’s a success or failure, learn from both to improve your decision-making. It means learning to make wise choices and taking control instead of letting things happen to you.
