In our setting, we cherish our deep work culture, where we value undivided attention and strive for excellence. Multitasking may seem like a shortcut, but it often leads to a multitude of negative consequences.

Research shows multitasking is actually switching between tasks and multitasking decreases productivity and quality of work. When we switch between tasks, our brain needs time to refocus and adapt when we transition focus between tasks, which results in lost time and decreased productivity. Moreover, because our attention is split between several things, it reduces our capacity for critical thought and problem-solving.

By doing multitasking, we rob ourselves of the opportunity to fully engage with our work. We miss out on the deep connections, innovative ideas, and insightful breakthroughs that arise from giving our undivided attention to a single task.
