It’s easy to get thrown off by setbacks and negative emotions. Self-doubt and uncertainties can escalate into self-defeating thoughts, affecting your ability to stay the course and stay afloat on a stormy sea.

Winning the battle in your mind first is the key to overcoming these challenges. It all starts with cultivating a habit of positive thinking and establishing a clear boundary of what you allow to influence your actions. Nobody can protect your mind from unwanted stressors other than yourself.

Develop a habit of interpreting setbacks as temporary and changeable. Focus on what’s within your control. It also means taking responsibility for your actions and owning the work needed to succeed instead of making excuses for why you can’t do it.

Do not allow your current situation to compromise your boat.
Protect your mind and your goals.
Stay the course!
