The best products and companies we know are the “best” because they live by a culture of EXCELLENCE.
But the path to excellence is never easy. It’s not something we can simply wish for nor is it something we have to work for only once. Excellence is a never-ending pursuit that we must consistently chase in our every action and decision.
Becoming the best is earned. We have to go through the stairs to reach the penthouse of our dreams. Step by step. Day by day, we must deliver excellence and do so a little better each time.
The journey is difficult. We will have to sacrifice some things along the way and there will be situations wherein we will be stretched too thin. Impediments, wrong people, and personal challenges will discourage us. But we must learn to trust the learning process and keep in mind that nothing great and worth it comes easy.
The best coders, communicators, marketers, salespeople, and software giants we know and aspire to become persisted and strived daily for excellence. Had they not, they wouldn’t be who they are today.
They can be us too. Our company could be the Apple of Referral Marketing software. Each of us could be the next Steve Jobs or Elon Musk or Sheryl Sandberg but that wouldn’t happen if we settle for good enough, much less give up midway.
So if that is indeed our goal, to become famous and the best in what we do, we must up our personal benchmark for success, embrace the uncomfortable journey to excellence, and never entertain the thought of giving up.
